Teaching Assistants in schools are fighting to be regraded and for the work they do supporting children to learn to be properly valued and paid.
And Traffic Wardens are out on strike for 8 weeks (less if they win, more if needed) in the fight for decent pay and conditions. They work a 42.5 hour week, only get 20 days annual leave and don’t get a paid enough for the work they do.
Despite a ‘Burnham Bounce’, the government is still telling us that austerity means we have to suffer and our services have to be cut – but they haven’t said that to the rich! They aren’t paying more tax.
