Camden recognises BME’s contribution in their 50 Years Celebrations event

Fraser Valdez of Camden Black Workers Group (CBWG) writes: As part of an event on 30 November to celebrate 50 years of Camden, the CBWG and Camden together gave recognition to BME figures that have made significant contributions to the borough.

Displays with images of individuals and a summary of the contributions they have made were on the 1st floor of the Old Town Hall. The displays and content incorporated past and present contributions of BME staff and residents which captured some of the great history Camden is fortunate enough to have as part of its portfolio.

I would like to send a special thanks to Caroline Jenkinson, the Head of Arts and Tourism, Caroline Bartram, the Democratic Services Project Officer, George Binette, the Camden UNISON Branch Secretary and Marilyn Bramble-Litchmore, Executive Committee Member of the Camden Black Workers Group, all of whom contributed in bringing the project and the displays to fruition.
