Camden Black Workers Group are hosting a social, educational and fun-filled event. See here for an list of what’s on.
You are all invited to come and celebrate Black History Month with the Camden Black Workers Group (CBWG). The event is taking place on Friday 24 October, from 2 to 8pm, at the Charlie Ratchford Centre, Belmont Street, NW1 8HF.
The day will include guest speakers and poets, as well as Caribbean food, music and dance. Attendees from different health organisations will talk about health concerns that predominantly affect people from black and minority ethnic groups. The film The Story of Lovers Rock will be showing, and there will also be a talk on the history of reggae.
Raffle tickets are on sale now, with prizes to be won and proceeds to go to Prostate Cancer UK.
This is an all-inclusive event – everyone is welcome. It’s the first Black History Month event in Camden for more than five years and the CBWG aim to make it a special occasion.
