Mounting NHS crisis provokes widespread response

After the astonishing turnout last Saturday (26th January) of 25,000 or more demonstrators to defend the maternity and A&E units at Lewisham General Hospital from closure, there is another protest in north London in opposition to the ongoing threat that hangs over Chase Farm Hospital:

Chase Farm must not close!

The Government is proceeding apace with the closure of Chase Farm. The Patient Advice and Liaison department closed the week before last. All administrative workers have now been sacked and must reapply for their jobs – 208 jobs will go
Demonstrate:
Saturday 2nd February 2013
Assemble 1pm Enfield Green, War Memorial
March 2pm through Enfield Town centre to Chase Farm Hospital.

On Monday evening (4th February) there will be a public meeting in the Council Chamber at Camden Town Hall, called by Keep Our NHS Public, to rally London-wide opposition to cuts, closures and the prospect of widespread privatisation of basic health services and whole NHS Trusts.
