The Government has proposed that the time people will have had to have worked for an employer before they can bring an unfair dismissal case if sacked will rise from 1 to 2 years.
This regressive move is coupled with plans to make workers pay a fee when an employment tribunal claim is filed. This will deter people from standing up for their rights. The message that is coming through loud and clear from this is that the Government is legitimising a “hire and fire” culture, and doing exactly what bad employers want.
