Camden Black Workers Group AGM Thursday 19th September 2019 5PS at 3pm in room 11 level 11. The CBWG invites to its AGM to celebrate another year of achievements and activities.

A lot has happened during the past year: some glorious like the NSL struggle for improved pay and conditions of employment; some good, like the increased membership and visibility of the group whose leadership is now reflected in its presence in executive organs of Black national organizations; some not so good, like the increased number of colleagues singled out for redundancy, sickness, performance and disciplinary procedures.

Throughout the year the initiatives of the Camden Black Workers Group have brought black consciousness to the fore while participating to the struggles of workers which tend to be the majority in all out sourced services. Linking world campaigns themes like ‘Black lives matter’ to the struggles for the ‘London living wages’ among the most exploited of our colleagues has underlined one of the unifying element of generalised exploitation as race discrimination.
