The national union has asked branches to poll their members as part of a consultation on the way forward following the employers’ 1% pay offer. The results in our branch were:
- Votes to accept: 164 (30.8%)
- Votes to reject and pursue industrial action: 368 (69.2%).
There was also a single spoilt ballot paper. The overall turnout was 22.6%.
The results of the consultative ballots in branches throughout the country will go to the national union’s NJC Committee. This Committee will then have to decide whether to go ahead with an official industrial action ballot.
