Unison’s NJC committee (the Unison reps who attend meetings with the national local gov’t employers’ organisation on pay) voted 14-13 not to make a recommendation to reject the employers’ paltry 1% pay offer. Members will be balloted on a consultative basis over the course of this month/early June as to whether they wish to accept this offer or to hold out for a better deal that tackles the substantial losses in our purchasing power we have suffered due to inflation over the past 3 years.
The unanimous position of Camden Unison’s branch committee is to reject the 1% offer and to support a ballot for national industrial action.
