The TUC conference has seen more coverage than usual of trade unions, some of it hysterically negative from elements of the corporate-owned media. This article from Seumas Milne in the Guardian points out how the real problem for society is that trade unions are too weak. We need stronger unions to reverse the fall in wages as a percentage of the economy – and to ensure that economic growth is balanced and helps ordinary workers throughout the regions of the country.
