Unison at World Pride on 7 July 2012

World Pride is almost here and UNISON members are getting ready to march (with a bit of partying of course…!). Each year UNISON LGBT members march to show we are visible and active within our union, and to demonstrate that equality is at the heart of all UNISON policy and the wider trade union movement.

The morning will start with a picnic breakfast at the Band Stand in Regents Park before joining the trade union section of the march on Baker Street. If you can’t get to the picnic you may also meet us at the march:

MEET: 10.30am Regents Park Band Stand for breakfast Or: 11.30am March starting point Baker Street.

We will be marching in the trade union section which is normally towards the front of the march. Look out for the trade unions to find us. A Regional LGBT Committee member will be there to meet you before 11.30am wearing a purple t shirt. The breakfast party will join the march bringing the UNISON LGBT balloon. Contact phone number on the day is: 07904 388973 the route of the march is here: http://www.pridelondon.org/parade/  http://www.unison.org.uk/out/pages_view.asp?did=14231

UNISON at World Pride

World Pride is in London on Saturday 7 July.  We are organising for a huge and highly visible UNISON presence on the march, as part of the trade union section.  Join us there!
The march is due to leave Baker Street at 11am (revised time) and makes its way down Oxford Street and Regent Street, moving down Pall Mall and Cockspur Street, passing Trafalgar Square and ending in Whitehall.  Route map: http://www.pridelondon.org/parade/
UNISON will be assembling in the red section of the march in Baker Street with the giant Pride in our Work balloon and orange and turquoise LGBT banner, half an hour before the march leaves.
UNISON’s stall will be in front of the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square, alongside other union stalls.
