Say no to Performance Related Pay!

Performance related payInformation about our ongoing campaign against Performance Related Pay (PRP) in Camden Council which was introduced in 2012.

We opposed the introduction of performance related pay on both practical and principled grounds. We did negotiate improvements to Camden’s “pay modernisation” proposals, but did not agree with their implementation. As a result Camden introduced them on a voluntary basis, paying a £1000 bribe for workers to sign up and introducing them to new starters.

Since then we have continued to campaign against PRP, as our predictions about the system have unfortunately been proved correct: namely that it would be arbitrary, unfair, discriminatory and would reward senior managers over frontline staff and the low paid.
