Camden UNISON helps a member recoup £6000 backpay.
In a HASC reorganisation a pilot scheme was introduced. A UNISON member took on a new role with more responsibility. She was told that by HR that her T&Cs would be the same. However her manager advised that she should receive more pay. Her manager changed several times during the year but neither management nor HR sorted out the pay rise despite being reminded by the member.
For one year she asked for clarification without success.
Then she asked her UNISON representative for advice. He then raised the issue with the Head of Section who reviewed the situation. As a result our member was awarded £6,000 back pay for the period.
