Lots of right-wing politicians, commentators and businessmen claim that reducing employees’ legal protection and rights will somehow help the economy and make it more competitive. This isn’t true and, as this article points out, many countries that perform better than Britain economically give their workers more rights and protection so they can share in the prosperity that their hard work creates.
